  2. ^
On 25 January 2016, the AFC announced changes to the schedule regarding teams from Iran and Saudi Arabia to be played on matchdays 5 and 6 (19–20 April and 3–4 May) due to the deteriorating Iran–Saudi Arabia relations, also the venues will be decided after an evaluation deadline of 15 March 2016. If there has not been a return to normal relations between the two countries by then, all matches between teams from Iran and Saudi Arabia will be played at neutral venues.[25]
